TRAVEL INFORMATION
Airports
Participants in Data Science Conference (DSCO) 2023 are advised to fly into one of three major airports: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK), or San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC).
The Bay Area boasts some of the best public transportation options in the continental United States:
-
The Bay Area Rapid Transit system is the best way for DSCO 2023 conference participants to travel from San Francisco International Airport to our hotel partners in the financial district of San Francisco. The University of San Francisco’s Downtown Campus is blocks away from BART’s Embarcadero Station, which participants can travel to by using the yellow (Antioch) or red (Richmond) lines at San Francisco International Airport. Participants using BART to travel to our partner hotel, the San Francisco Marriott Union Square, are advised to disembark at the Powell Street or Montgomery Street stations.
-
Visitors arriving at the San Francisco Caltrain Station can take a quick Muni ride (N line) along the waterfront to the Embarcadero station, which is blocks away from the University of San Francisco’s Downtown Campus.
SamTrans and BART provide service from Caltrain to the San Francisco International Airport. Samtrans Route SFO has been replaced by a new connection on Route 292, which allows travel between the Millbrae Transit Center and SFO.
South Bay and Peninsula travelers can ride Caltrain to BART for a traffic-free trip to OAK. Caltrain customers can connect with BART at the Millbrae station, then ride BART to its Coliseum station. Take the BART Oakland Airport people mover from Coliseum BART to the airport.
VTA Route #60 provides service to and from the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the San Jose Mineta International Airport, with opportunities to connect to transit centers such as the Milpitas BART Transit Center and the Winchester Transit Center.
-
While San Francisco’s municipal railway does not provide a direct connection to SFO, OAK, or SJC, it is nonetheless a convenient way to get around San Francisco’s downtown area (routes N, M, T, K, and J) and its amenities along the Embarcadero and the waterfront (routes N, M, T, F, and J).
