Code of Conduct

Data Science Conference (DSCO) 2023 organizers are dedicated to providing a space and program for attendees and speakers to engage in an open exchange of ideas and respectful scientific debate. We value the participation of every conference participant and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience characterized by freedom of thought and expression. DSCO 2023 brings together a diverse and inclusive group of academics, practitioners, and students from a wide array of organizations to learn about developments in the field and applications in areas such as the environment, data ethics, marketing, healthcare, and more.

We ask that participants generously share what they know; mentor others when the opportunity arises; and offer respect, courtesy, and compassion to other attendees, regardless of whether or not there are differences of opinion.

Every attendee, speaker, exhibitor, organizer, and volunteer at any event or activity connected with DSCO 2023 is expected to abide by this Code of Conduct:

“The Data Science Conference (DSCO) 2023 provides a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of workshop participants in any form. All communication will remain appropriate for a professional audience of any background. We do not permit the following behaviors at any time during the workshop, in any venue and communication channels, including social media: using sexual language or imagery; insulting, maligning, or harassing other attendees; or telling sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes.”

If you feel this Code of Conduct has been violated, or have other concerns (e.g., you need assistance with contacting hotel or venue security, or local law enforcement), please contact a member of the Data Institute staff.
